A website is a sales asset with a Core Web Vitals score attached. It has to load fast on a phone on a bad connection, say what you do in the first screen, and hand a qualified lead to a human without friction. Everything else is decoration.

One submission lands in your inbox, your CRM, your Slack channel and a spreadsheet, with a stored copy so a mail failure never loses a lead.
REST + webhookAbandoned cart, post-purchase and win-back flows wired to real product data, not generic templates.
Shopify + KlaviyoCalendly bookings create the contact, the deal and the reminder sequence automatically.
Calendly + HubSpotStructured data generated from the page, so search engines and answer engines read it correctly on day one.
JSON-LD engineNot if the URLs, the content and the internal links survive. We map every existing URL before anything moves, redirect one-to-one, and keep the copy that is already ranking. Losses happen when agencies rewrite and re-slug at the same time.

The short answer Tack Media builds, rebuilds and maintains WordPress sites as commercial assets: performance, structure, tracking, forms wired into the CRM, and content operations that keep publishing. We work with WooCommerce and with headless setups where they earn their keep. Engagements start at $5,000 a month. What we actually do with WordPress WordPress runs a very large.

WordPress runs a very large share of the web and most of it is running badly. Twenty plugins doing the work of four, a theme nobody can update, and forms that email a shared inbox and go nowhere else.
| Connects to | What moves | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| HubSpot | Form submissions with UTMs and click IDs; tracked page views | Every lead arrives with its source attached |
| Google Analytics 4 | Page, form, scroll and ecommerce events | Content and conversion performance become measurable |
| Klaviyo | Signups, WooCommerce orders and content downloads | Non-Shopify stores get real lifecycle email |
| Google Ads | Conversion tracking, landing pages and remarketing tags | Campaigns land on pages built to convert, and are measured |
| n8n | REST API calls for publishing, syncing and content operations | Repetitive publishing work stops consuming an editor’s day |
| Claude | Briefs, metadata and internal link suggestions via the REST API | Editorial throughput rises with the review step intact |
| Slack | Form alerts, publish notifications and uptime warnings | Problems surface immediately rather than in a weekly check |
The host is running versions WordPress no longer recommends. As of 26 August 2026, WordPress.org states the requirements as PHP 8.3 or greater, MariaDB 10.11 or later or MySQL 8.0 or later, and HTTPS on every installation, noting that older versions such as PHP 7.4 have reached end of life and may expose the site to security vulnerabilities. Plenty of sites still run on stacks below that line, and the owner finds out during an incident.
API access is handled insecurely. The REST API supports cookie authentication with nonces and Application Passwords over HTTPS, and WordPress explicitly warns that the Basic Authentication plugin sends a username and password with every request and should not be used in production. We see production integrations built on exactly that plugin more often than anyone would like.
Nobody knows what the REST API is already exposing. WordPress documents that the API exposes posts, pages, taxonomies and other built-in data types, respecting the existing permission model, so public content is generally publicly accessible via the API. That is usually fine and occasionally not, particularly with custom post types and user endpoints. It should be a decision, not a surprise.
WooCommerce keys are issued too broadly. WooCommerce generates a consumer key and consumer secret tied to a specific user, with read, write or read/write permission, and the secret shown only once. Read/write keys handed to a third-party tool that only needed read access are a standing risk, and rotating them later is nobody’s favourite afternoon.
Tack Media engagements start at $5,000 a month. What moves the number: number of templates and pages, whether WooCommerce is involved, migration complexity, how much content operations we run, and whether ongoing maintenance sits with us.
WordPress core is free and open source. Hosting, premium plugins, licences and any CDN are billed by those vendors on your own account, and we will always tell you when a paid plugin is cheaper than custom development. Where the site is part of a wider programme, see marketing systems and capabilities.
You do. Domain, hosting and licences are in your name, and we are given access rather than holding the keys. Everything is documented so another team could pick it up.
Yes. We avoid proprietary layers that trap a site. Build documentation, credentials and deployment process are handed over, and we run a session with whoever takes it on.
Usually. A full rebuild is right less often than agencies suggest. Frequently the answer is remediation: cut the plugin count, fix the tracking, repair the structure and leave the design alone.
When there is a reason. Headless adds real cost and takes the visual editing experience away from the marketing team. If the reason is genuine we build it. If it is fashion, we say so.
Then we can take only the marketing layer, tracking, CRM integration, schema and content structure, and work alongside them. That is a common arrangement and it works when the boundary is written down.
WordPress is a commercial asset or a liability depending on how it is built and who maintains it. The gap between the two is a supported hosting stack, a small plugin count, working tracking and forms that reach the CRM.
For an honest assessment of whether your site needs a rebuild or a repair, book a call with a Tack Media expert or phone 310-620-1141.
