Tack Media turns Slack into the operating surface for a marketing and sales system: lead alerts, approval steps, error notifications and daily numbers delivered where the team already is.

Reading channel history is no longer freely available to new apps. Slack applies rate limits per API method, per workspace, per app, and since 29 May 2025 newly created non-Marketplace apps face restricted limits on conversations.history and conversations.replies, while existing installations of non-approved apps are not subject to the new limits. If your plan involves.

Four algorithm eras. This is the fifth. We know which parts matter and which parts are noise, because we were here for the last four times everyone said search was dead.

The short answer Tack Media turns Slack into the operating surface for a marketing and sales system: lead alerts, approval steps, error notifications and daily numbers delivered where the team already is. We build the apps and workflows behind those messages. Engagements start at $5,000 a month. What we actually do with Slack Slack is not a marketing.

Slack is not a marketing tool. It is where the marketing system talks to the people who run it. Used well it removes a category of delay: nobody has to remember to check a dashboard, because the thing that mattered came to them.
| Connects to | What moves | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| HubSpot | New leads, stage changes, stuck deals; updates written back from Slack | Response time improves without adding a dashboard to check |
| Salesforce | Case assignment, opportunity alerts and approval requests | Escalations reach a person rather than a queue |
| Pipedrive | Deal creation and activity reminders | Small teams keep the CRM current without nagging |
| n8n | Error workflow output, approvals and scheduled reports | The automation layer becomes observable |
| Claude | Drafted responses and summaries posted for approval | The human review gate sits inside the normal workflow |
| Google Ads | Spend pacing, anomaly and disapproval alerts | Budget problems surface the same day, not at month end |
| Shopify | High-value order, refund and inventory alerts | Operations reacts to the exceptions rather than watching everything |
If your plan involves an internal app that reads a busy channel’s backlog, that constraint has to be designed around from the start.
Alert fatigue kills the whole system. A channel that posts every event gets muted, and once it is muted the genuine alerts are lost too. The design question is not what could be posted, it is what deserves an interruption. We typically cut a proposed alert list by half before anything is built.
The free plan quietly loses the record. As of 26 August 2026, Slack’s Free plan includes 90 days of message history, with Pro at $8.75 per user per month billed monthly or $7.25 annually, and Business+ at $18 monthly or $15 annually. If approvals or decisions are recorded in Slack, a 90-day window means the audit trail disappears on a rolling basis. Slack changes pricing, so confirm before you plan around it.
Alerts are built on the automation platform’s expensive path. A Slack message sent from Zapier is a task like any other. Zapier documents that a task is any successful action that runs, while Filters and Paths cost nothing. A chatty alert Zap with the filter in the wrong position is a surprisingly common line on an automation bill.
Tack Media engagements start at $5,000 a month. What moves the number: how many systems feed Slack, whether a custom app with interactive components is required, whether approval flows write back to the CRM, and how much of the wider automation we own.
Your Slack subscription is separate and stays in your name. The tiers above are as published on 26 August 2026. This work rarely stands alone, and usually sits inside automation and AI services or a broader marketing systems build.
You do. The workspace is yours, and any custom app is created in your organisation with your admins in control of its scopes. We are added as collaborators, not owners.
Yes. App configuration, scopes, and the workflows behind each alert are documented. The Slack side is usually the simplest part of a handover because the logic lives in the automation platform, not in Slack.
Usually. Most workspaces already have several integrations posting messages. We audit what is there, retire what is being ignored, and add only what earns an interruption.
The narrowest set that does the job. Posting to specific channels is a very different scope from reading a workspace’s history, and we ask for the first unless there is a documented reason for the second.
The pattern is the same and most of the work sits in the automation layer regardless. The alerting surface is the last mile, and it is replaceable.
Slack earns its place in a marketing system as the place where things that need a human reach one, quickly. Lead alerts, approval gates and error notifications are worth building. Everything else is noise waiting to be muted.
If leads are sitting unanswered or automations are failing without anyone noticing, book a call with a Tack Media expert or phone 310-620-1141.
