LinkedIn is the most expensive click in B2B and the most precise targeting available. Both facts have to be respected or the channel loses money quickly.
| Connects to | What moves | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Salesforce | Lead Gen Form submissions in; opportunity stage, amount and lost reason back out | The channel is judged on pipeline, which is the only number the board cares about |
| HubSpot | Leads with full campaign context in; lifecycle stage and deal value returned as conversion events | Bidding optimises toward leads that convert, within HubSpot’s published API limits |
| Pipedrive | New leads created with source, campaign and creative fields populated | Smaller sales teams get attribution without buying enterprise software |
| Slack | New qualified lead alerts routed to the owning rep | Speed to first contact, which decides more B2B deals than creative does |
| n8n | Lead enrichment, dedupe, routing rules and suppression list sync | No manual CSV step between LinkedIn and the CRM |
| Looker Studio | Spend against pipeline created and pipeline closed | One report that survives a CFO reading it |
| Google Ads | Shared suppression lists and shared closed-won signals | Demand capture and demand creation stop double-paying for the same account |
Leads that never leave LinkedIn. Lead Gen Forms convert well and then sit in an export screen. If your process involves someone downloading a CSV on Monday, the channel will look worse than it is.
Versioned APIs that expire underneath you. This is the single most common cause of a LinkedIn integration going quiet. LinkedIn publishes new API versions monthly and supports each for a minimum of one year, and the Linkedin-Version header in YYYYMM format is mandatory on every call. Integrations built once and never revisited stop working on a schedule you can predict, which means you can also prevent it.
Conversions API limits ignored at scale. LinkedIn documents them precisely: 5,000 conversion events per batch request, 600 requests per minute, 500,000 requests per day, and a 90-day conversion lookback window, as of 26 August 2026. That 90-day window matters most: if your sales cycle is six months, closed-won cannot be sent back as a conversion event and you need a different attribution model. Vendor limits change, so we verify them at each build.
Treating LinkedIn CPCs like search CPCs. The click costs what it costs. The only defence is a higher-value offer and tighter qualification, not a lower bid.
Tack engagements start at $5,000 a month. What moves the number: number of target segments and geographies, whether we produce the content offer or you supply it, whether ABM list management is in scope, and how deep the CRM integration goes.
LinkedIn does not publish a fixed platform fee. Its own advertising pages state you can start with any budget and stop at any time, with cost set by auction. In practice, B2B CPCs on LinkedIn are the highest of the major platforms, and a test that produces a readable result usually needs several thousand dollars a month in media on top of the retainer. Media is billed by LinkedIn to your card, not to us.
You do. It sits under your company page and your billing. We take manager access and give it back on request. Your Insight Tag data, matched audiences and conversion history stay with you.
Yes. Audience definitions, the conversion map, the routing logic and the version-header maintenance schedule are all documented as part of the system we build.
Usually yes. We keep the account and Insight Tag history. What we typically replace is the lead routing, because that is where most of the value is being lost.
Then we do not pretend otherwise. We optimise on a mid-funnel proxy that we can prove correlates with closed-won, and report true attribution out of the CRM instead of out of Campaign Manager.
Yes. Enrichment, routing, sequencing and alerting are part of our automation and AI work. Tack are integrators, not trainers.
LinkedIn works for B2B when the offer is strong, the lead reaches a human quickly, and success is measured in pipeline rather than in downloads. Get those three right and the high CPC stops being the problem.
